BIOGRAPHY

Bob Evans, also known as "the Knobbit Man", started whittling when he was 10 years old. He has had no formal training in carving or sculpting. He has developed his own style and technique over the years. It makes no difference to Bob whether you call him a whittler, a carver, or a sculptor. He loves to work with wood as it takes on a new life and shape. He believes in the whimsical, playful qualities in all of us, and he loves expressing that belief in his carvings. For over 20 years, as a professional carver, Bob has shared his fantasies in wood - enjoy them as he does!

Lil Evans, Bob's wife, is an integral part of "Knobbit Lore." Nearly 20 years ago she took over the task of painting the carvings. Until she does her "magic" with her paints and brushes, Bob says his carvings are "...just pieces of wood. Lil brings them to life and puts a twinkle in their eyes!" Lil also likes to brag that she is in charge of quality control...Bob says "yeah, whatever"!  Enjoy.
